My Favorite Nursing and Pumping Bras!

A comfortable, quality nursing and/or pumping bra is a must when breastfeeding. With so many available options these days, the bra that works best for you really depends on your personal preferences and priorities. For me, I find that different bras work best for different stages of breastfeeding. Not only will your breasts go through lots of changes as you breastfeed, but so will your lifestyle. With this in mind, I’ve broken down my favorite nursing bra for each stage of breastfeeding to make the shopping experience a little less overwhelming!

Newly Postpartum

In the early days, you will likely be at home a lot, feeding very frequently. At this stage, comfort and easy access will be the highest priority. My favorite nursing bra for immediately postpartum is The Everything Bra from Bodily. It’s super, super soft and non-restricting, which makes it perfect for the first days or weeks as your milk is transitioning and increasing in volume, especially if you battle some engorgement. 

Nursing

A standard, everyday wear nursing bra will get tons of use. My personal fave for a nursing bra is the Momcozy Nursing Bra. It’s super comfortable and allows for easy access for breastfeeding, and its high quality means it will last through lots of washes and wears.

Since we’re already doing enough loads of laundry, it’s nice to have some extra nursing bras on hand if you’re behind on your laundry. This ribbed multi-pack has really high ratings and is a good quality but more affordable option for a comfortable nursing bra.

Nursing and Pumping

If you’re going back to work, or you regularly pump in addition to nursing your baby, you’ll want to invest in a nursing and pumping combo bra to allow you to easily nurse and also pump hands-free. A good nursing and pumping bra should be comfortable but still supportive enough to keep your pump parts secure. My personal favorites are the Bodily Do Anything Bra or the Kindred Bravely Sublime Pumping and Nursing Bra. For a more affordable option, the Momcozy Hands Free Pumping Bra is a quality bra that comes very highly rated. 

Pumping

If you’re exclusively pumping, you’re already putting in a ton of time and energy into feeding your baby, so having a reliable and comfortable pumping bra is a must-have to make your life a little easier. For a dedicated pumping bra, I’d recommend the Simple Wishes Hands-Free Pumping Bra.  

Sports Bra

If you’re getting back into working out postpartum, or you’re just generally very active and need a more supportive nursing bra, a nursing sports bra can give you that added support. I love the Kindred Bravely Sublime Nursing Sports Bra! In my opinion, these run small so size up on this one!
