First Birthday Gift Guide

#giftguide Oct 03, 2023

First birthdays are such a fun and special milestone! For birthday presents I recommend gifting toys that develop baby's more complex play skills, are versatile and can be used across age ranges. Here are a few of my top recommended toys for baby's first birthday:

  1. We actually already own this push toy, and we love it! It’s age appropriate for 12 month old babies, but is interactive for younger and older babies as well. This one is another great option at a different price point.
  2. This set of 5 plush dolls is so adorable and can introduce your baby to diversity and pretend play.
  3. A toddler tower is a bigger-ticket item, but likely to get years of use! Brooks got this one from his grandparents!
  4.  A play kitchen is a common staple in a toddler’s playroom. And don’t forget to stock it with yummy food! We’re getting this food set for Brooks’ birthday.
  5. Toddlers love to help and they love to imitate, so a toddler-sized cleaning set is a fun way to give your child an outlet for their curiosity!
  6. Another playroom must-have is a comfy couch like this Nugget couch dupe that we own and love! Still high quality, but a more affordable option. Set it up in different configurations for endless play opportunities.
  7. I can’t recommend this ball pit enough! The quality is excellent. It has thick and sturdy sides for young babies to pull up to stand and to  walk along, and the vinyl is very easy to clean. The balls are sold separately, so don’t forget to snag those too!
  8. A water table is a fun, interactive toy that many toddlers love, and it offer lots of opportunities for sensory and language development! Brooks was gifted this one from grandparents, so we’re excited for him to try it!
  9. We own and love this play tunnel! It’s a simple toy but can be played with in so many ways across many ages.
  10. This toddler bike is so diverse and will grow with your child! It has a removable parent handle to use in push mode. It can be used as a balance bike without pedals or as a tricycle with the pedals. The seat height can also be adjusted as your toddler grows.
  11. A race track ramp like this one is a perfect gift for a 1 year old, and this one is high quality and comes highly rated!
  12. Introduce art to your toddler with these easy to grasp egg-shaped, non-toxic crayons and jumbo paintbrushes. Brooks received these for his birthday and has loved tapping & sweeping the crayons on a large piece of paper and "painting" with water!
